Notice of Public Hearing

​A budget hearing will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 15, 2022, in the office of the Newton County Commission for the purpose of hearing comments on the proposed 2023 County Budget.  After December 1, 2022, the proposed budget may be examined between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays in the Commissioner’s Office.  Interested citizens shall have the opportunity to give written or oral comment at this hearing. Citizens must request to speak to the Commission by 4:00 pm on the Monday prior to the Budget Hearing.  If you are in need of disability related auxiliary aids or services, contact the County Commission Office at 417-451-8223 or the County Clerk’s Office at 417-451-8221.  To be published in The News Dispatch on November 30, 2022.

Veterans Ceremony

Newton County will host an event to honor our Nation’s veterans.

November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. on the main floor of the Courthouse in Neosho.

US Navy Veteran and retired District 2 Commissioner Jim Jackson will be the guest speaker.

Veterans in attendance will also be recognized.

All area veterans and their families along with the public are invited to attend.
