Posted: 10/26/2022, 10:00am (RSMo 610.020) Three trees at the north end of the Courthouse were removed. Their root balls were becoming too big and would have caused damage to the infrastructure, concrete, and sidewalks. The old oak tree was bug ridden and decaying in the upper large limbs and therefore a safety hazard. Also, the gumballs from the gum trees were quite problematic. The stumps will be removed, and new trees will be planted.
Newton County Commission The wood from the tree cutting/trimming around the Courthouse will be donated to Teen Challenge. Monday, October 24, 2022
