· Monday thru Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary:
Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts payable and billing records by performing the following duties;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, sorts, copies, files, and mails invoices, receipts, checks, correspondence, and other requested items.
  • Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment.
  • Daily entry of vendor invoices into accounting software.
  • Prepares accounts payable checks.
  • Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
  • Daily entry of customer invoicing.
  • Emailing customer invoices and statements.
  • Researches and processes charge backs, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad checks, and similar items.
  • Answers accounts payable and billing inquiries and follows up.
  • Assists with related special projects, as required.
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
  • Prepares analysis and summaries of accounts.
  • Monitors accounts payable to ensure payments are accurate and timely.
  • Assist in monthly and annual closings.
  • Prepare and send out monthly customer statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DEPUTY COLLECTOR / CASHIER / CLERICAL COLLECTOR

Responsibilities: Assist taxpayers in person, by phone, and by correspondence in a professional manner.
Process payments made in-person and via mail, web, phone, and online bill pay.
Process and follow up with various intermittent payments, including rejected payments, returned payments, prepayments, and overages.
Perform comprehensive procedures for vital processes, including escrow payments, probate claims, and delinquent tax certificate sale.
Balance cash drawers and create payment receipts.
Utilize approved skip tracing resources to locate taxpayers.
Perform routine office tasks, including opening and closing the office, stocking supplies, and maintaining retention schedules.

Status: Full-time, non-exempt, benefited

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Neosho, Missouri

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum of two to four years of clerical experience, including spreadsheet and word processing applications; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to secure and maintain qualifications for a $50,000 surety bond once employed.

Preferred Skills:
Experience working in a professional office setting; assisting the public in person and by telephone; and experience in cashiering or handling cash.

Deputy Public Administrator


The Newton County Public Administrator’s office has an immediate opening for a deputy position. The role of the Public Administrator’s Office is to serve as guardian and conservator for adults with disabilities. We coordinate and oversee healthcare, placement, insurance, assets, and benefits; we are not direct care givers.
The deputy will manage a case load and complete required paperwork, correspond with wards and care givers, and make day to day decisions regarding the ward.
The office is a fast-paced environment that offers new and different situations all the time! Must be able to celebrate small victories and see the big picture as well as the immediate need. Being self-motivated and having a team attitude will foster success.

This position is full time, Monday through Friday.

Newton County is accepting applications for a full time road / bridge Foreman position.  Applicant must live within a thirty-minute drive of Granby. The position requires the ability to supervise two road / bridge workers. The position also requires the skills necessary to read “flat work” plans, blueprints, and the ability to use concrete forms. Candidate should have at least one year experience.
