Within the first week of 2025, Newton County Commission has approved Resolution 2025-01 SB190, offering property tax relief for seniors. The tax credit application is available starting February 1, 2025 until June 15, 2025 at the County Clerk’s and Assessor’s office. A taxpayer may qualify if he or she is a Missouri resident, at least 62 years of age on or before January 1 of the year applying, is a homeowner or has legal or equitable interest in such property and is liable for the payment of real property taxes on the home.
